WOMEN'S SHELTER

Three Oaks offers residential service , safety planning, individual and group counselling in the shelter, a 24 hour crisis line and court support for women who must leave a dangerous situation. We help women seek permanent housing and refer them to appropriate community agencies. There is no charge for our service. All meals and basic necessities are provided. The shelter is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days per week and women can access services by phone or in person.

A CHILDREN’S SHELTER SERVICE

We have a program for children staying in the shelter and can provide support and referrals for children and their mothers.  A playroom with toys and games is available for children’s use during their stay.

OUTREACH SERVICES

We offer short-term, goal-oriented individual and group counselling for women in the community and former residents of the shelter who have experienced abuse.  This service is offered in Belleville, Trenton, Central Hastings and South Hastings.

CHILDREN’S COUNSELLING

Our children’s outreach program provides individual and group counselling for children in the community who have witnessed violence in their homes.  We also have a mother’s group so that mothers can support their children throughout the program.

TRANSITIONAL SUPPORT PROGRAM

Our transitional support program helps women build stable lives free of violence. The program may include safety planning, referrals, assistance in finding and maintaining housing, and advocacy with other agencies, including court support and follow up.

TRAINING AND EDUCATION PROGRAM

We offer public education awareness seminars on the issues of violence against women and presentations on the services of Three Oaks Foundation.

VOLUNTEERS

If you want to volunteer please contact the Training and Education Coordinator.  There is an application and screening process, and then we provide training.  Volunteer opportunities include providing childcare, driving, and fundraising.  Our board of directors is also comprised of community volunteers.
